Principal Message-December 2020
Dear Online Students and Families,
I first want to thank you for supporting your child’s at home learning. The uncertainty and changes that have come with this school year have not made things easy. While we have worked hard in the school building to create meaningful digital and at home learning experiences, we know that you have put in overtime to support your child.
Feedback that we have gathered from both teachers and families suggests that the best environment to maximize learning and social-emotional health is in the classroom. However, we understand that providing an online option is necessary for families in certain circumstances.
As we prepare for quarter three, we would like to give online students the opportunity to return in person. Please complete the survey that will be sent to you via text alert and from your teacher to inform the school of your decision to begin in person or remain online. Please make your decision, and let us know by January 8, 2021.
For students that will continue with at home learning, I would like to emphasize the importance of daily attendance through submission of work and participation of online learning activities. It is these interactions that will help us determine if your student is making adequate academic progress or if retention needs to be considered.
I invite all families to reach out to myself or the online teacher if you have questions about our response to the pandemic or current conditions at school. I can be reached by email, email@example.com or phone, 928 288 8400.
Yours in education,
Bonnie Brennan Elementary Principal
